25 Days of Blogging...Day 6
The Great Gourding is still an unsolved mystery in our house. The gourds showed up sometime between 8:00 PM and 6:30 AM one evening the first week in October, the little white ones in the photo below.
We told so many people about the gourds and never found out who brought them over. A month later...more gourds!!! You will notice in the next picture, two more pumpkins (on the ends of the front row) and another small dark orange pumpkin (the one Jacob is holding).
We are still hoping to solve this mystery because we would love to thank the person that did it. The additional gourds really added to our display.

25 Days of Blogging...Day 4
Tree decorating with two 3 year old boys is one of the funniest, yet most frustrating things a person can do.
We ended up with, I think 6 broken ornaments (the frustrating part), but that is offset with how funny it is to have one branch with 5 ornaments. There may have been more I think a couple fell off.

25 Days of Blogging...Day 3
The boys got plenty of opportunity to let Santa know what they wanted him to bring this year. Our first stop this morning was our church's cookie walk. Colby saw his opportunity and hopped right up on Santa's lap to tell him what he wanted for Christmas.
Jacob is still not sure what to think of Santa. Here is the conversation he and I had this morning.
"What are you going ask Santa for this year?"
"A race track. Mommy, you tell him."
"No, you need to tell him."
"Maybe daddy will."
After the cookie walk, we (and Santa too) headed over to the fire hall for a Lunch with Santa event. Once again Colby was eager to get in his wish list...
...but Jacob, not so much. Finally, Mrs. Claus was able to get Jacob to tell her what he wanted, from a distance. Jeff also was able to get him close enough to Santa to take a picture.

Since I was volunteering at the Lunch with Santa event the boys and Jeff had to stick around to help clean up. While we were cleaning, Colby found one of the firefighters and started following him around the fire station. When the fireman said he needed to move one of the trucks Colby spoke right up and said, "I want to ride on the fire truck!" "Hop in!" Luckily one of my Women of Today friends was there and said, "You can't take him without taking the other kids." So all of the Women of Today kids that stuck around to help their moms clean got to take a ride around the block in the fire truck.
My favorite part of the day was getting to bake for the church cookie walk. I found this idea online and thought it was too cute...I'm melting!

25 Days of Blogging...Day 2
What do you get when you put ice skates on 2 three year olds, a teenager, and two adults? Five people ice skating very slowly.
The boys had fun for a little while, but were a lot more interested in the waterfall.

We had a great time and highly recommend the Main Street Square Skating Rink in Rapid City, SD. The perfect ending to our afternoon of ice skating was walking across the street to Zoom Candy and Soda Shop, what a fun store!

25 Days of Blogging...Day 1
"Oh my GOODNESS!" the boys would shriek every time they opened one of their presents during our first Christmas of 2011. It didn't take them long to take over the whole gift opening. They upwrapped everyone else's presents too and got just as excited for everyone else's gifts. One of them actually said "Oh my goodness, look at that box!"
